Well, that gets his attention. The Doctor looks away from the panel, frowning worriedly at Johnny, spending a few moments trying to piece together a reasoning for why he would expect torture to happen. No answer presents itself. It seems to have to do with the whole recognising the Doctor thing. A future version of him, maybe? That still doesn't explain why torture is on the table.
