He's not so terrible at playing the part, but there are limits to how long he likes to keep it up. He doesn't actually like pretending, because he wants Andrew to like him for who he is. But he also wants to protect his pride, and, well, he's got issues. He can't possibly just be nice to him.

"Ah," he answers, nodding. "Should've guessed. Rift this big, probably been around a while. Things coming through, bound to stir things up a bit."
