His elocution seems to be taking a turn for the worse as well. He usually makes a point of enunciating much more properly than he would back home, since anything else mostly led to blank stares, but the drunker and/or more tired he gets, the more obvious it becomes. It's like his t-sounds are slowly fading out of existence, only making occasional appearances.
