Rashad keeps an eye on her as she picks someone to breathe on, trailing after her without much conviction as to whether he means to follow her or pursue his own avenues of investigation. There are computers showing readouts he has no skill for deciphering, chemicals in labeled containers not doing anything terribly obvious, and someone in the corner doing something with a series of small blood samples. He peels away toward the last, but when Iman asks the question he has to look up from where he paused along the way to briefly tidy a messy workstation.

"I did," he replies, not seeing any significance in it. "As did most of Manhattan, I should think. And I should tell you that I do not have any problem with complicated things. You might find I understand more than you would expect. This is not my home, either, and things are not the same here as I am used to."
