It's been a weird couple of days. Though with a Rift floating in the middle of Manhattan, Daniel's pretty sure 'weird' is pretty much baseline around here.

Not that the weather's helped any. Daniel doesn't know what form of luck he's suddenly obtained to have avoided the sporadic downpours except that it's probably less 'luck' and more 'haven't left the apartment building' in general. Daniel has highly uncertain plans for his future given that he has no idea how long he'll be able to stay in Lucy's old place before the Rebels pick up on the fact that their intended tenant has left and in her place is a space-faring archaeologist with some latent knowledge of a higher plane. He'd like to avoid getting roped into anything political and has thus been operating under the policy of general avoidance, aka 'staying inside and reading'.

The invitation to meet Seth for lunch had been extremely welcome after keeping boxed in to escape Manhattan's elemental rollercoaster (in late July? is this another Rift thing?) even if Daniel feels like he's been waiting at the designated nondescript corner for a bit longer than expected. He doesn't mind overly - he's certainly enjoying the weak sunlight while it lasts.
