"No, it's, it's okay," he answers, deciding to put aside his worries for a moment to reassure her. His worries are, well, they're not very fun to focus on anyway. They're most definitely going to linger in the back of his mind, but right now he's so emotionally exhausted he has no problem deciding to push them back for a while.

"I don't live here either actually, I was, um, waiting for someone, but they left, so." Bit of a simplification, leaving out a few key details, but it's not untrue. "We can go sit down somewhere, get a coffee or something. Try to figure out what's going on." He pauses, awkwardly stuffing his hands in his pockets, and decides to be straight-forward. "You don't seem like you should be on your own right now, and I'm not sure I should be either, so."
