Jay gives Rush a sidelong, disapproving look. He's starting to pick up that Rush is uncomfortable, though he can't fathom why. Are his extra eyes really that alarming, here? Is it something he said? He wasn't that abrasive, surely. Jay's aware he can be too much for some people, but perhaps not of the full extent of what his persona and attitude wreak.

"Well, regardless of what you intended, Dr Rush, snapping at someone who merely exists near you is very much unsettling," he says, primly. He ignores the fact that he's been known to snap at people who merely exist near him. That, to him, is immaterial because he's aware he unsettles people when he does that. It's partially why he does it.
