Considering how tired Daine seemed, Peeta isn't surprised. Pulling his bag onto his shoulder, he follows Daine's path into the bushes, dogs in tow. Once in the little valley, he unclips their leads and finally lets them say hello to Daine properly. There's a tree nearby the one Daine is propped against, and Peeta lowers himself to sit against it. He watches Daine through his eyelashes as she greets the dogs.
She's clearly exhausted, and Peeta studies her face for a few minutes until he's satisfied that she isn't hurt - in any way. Then he rummages in his bag, unearthing a mostly full bottle of water and a granola bar. The water is lukewarm and the bar is a bit mushed, but he silently offers Daine both.
