"Oh god-" he blurts when Daniel melts into a ball of light too radiant to even look at, even though he doesn't have retinas to burn he looks away; and then Daniel moves into his chest, where his heart should be, this is weird, this is fucking weird.

"Uh," he says uneasily, feeling a weird tingling sensation travel throughout him, it's almost painful to feel things again- "Uhh..."

And then it's gone. Snapped right out of existence like nothing even happened, like a light turned off. And nothing's different. He feels the same.

"Shit," he murmurs, and looks around gracelessly. "Daniel? Daniel?!"

Oh god, oh god. What happened to him? Is he gone? Is this his fault? Did his fucking selfishness just lead to another goddamn body?

No, no, no. Don't think about it. He can't afford to think about it. He drifts out, away, rattled and afraid and trying very, very hard not to think about it.
