Peter's a far cry from the shrinking violet he used to be when it came to taking advantage of his powers. Or power, singular, but now that he can use it properly he has to admit that it's a fucking good power.

So fucking good that maybe he's become just a bit cavalier with it.

Really, teleporting while drunk could have gone much worse. The thought is sobering, but not sobering enough to prevent him from stumbling over to fetch up against Seth's refrigerator with a giddy, nervous laugh when it registers that no, this is definitely not Gabriel's flat. "Jesus," he says, brushing it off in that way one can when one is not quite entirely mentally present. "That was a piss poor idea. Where the fuck?"

Peter's all but decided that he's going to call someone anyway, even if 'call someone' really just means go on to Gabe's flat as planned and tell him to get his arse down here, when Seth grabs him. For a second the significance doesn't hit him, but as soon as the lightshow begins Peter tries to jerk away. "You can't have it!" he squawks, mistaking the direction of the flow of energy. For Peter, trying to escape is more or less synonymous with teleporting, whether he means to or not, and just as the transfer ends the pair of them are quite suddenly on the other side of the room, Seth still latched onto his wrist.

"...You didn't take it," he says slowly, deeply confused by this development.

It takes Seth a little while to even realise what just happened, as power transferrals tend to make less aware of his surroundings even when he doesn't feel like he's dying. Not only did he give Peter a power without meaning to, but suddenly they're both over in the kitchen before Seth can even let go of Peter.

After a few moments of trying to catch his breath, he looks up at Peter, frowning at him. Why would he take his power? Well, except for that he did that one time, but that was with Peter's (ill-conceived) consent.

"No, I didn't," he answers, shaking his head a little and running a hand through his hair. He feels better. Completely exhausted, but the pain's almost gone, and his only shivering now is the after-effects of giving a power, and even that is receding quickly.

"Jesus," says Peter, rubbing his wrist as though he expects some lingering sensation where it happened. "What the hell did you do? Did you --" he frowns, logicking his way through it. Power still there. Definitely a light show. "You put something in me, didn't you? Just stuck it right in! Fuck, Seth, remind me never to go on a date with you. The hell was it?"

That's alright, Peter's not really Seth's type. He's got the height but none of the bulk. And a bit too annoying, though he doesn't mind the crassness as much.

Seth scoots back a little to lean against one of the kitchen cupboards, closing his eyes for a moment. Searching himself, trying to sort out the powers still stored inside him. It's tricky when there's so many, he's always tried to only have a couple at the same time.

"I'm not sure," he answers eventually, opening his eyes again. "I think it was... Um.. What was it called? Intoxication swap, I think. I haven't had a chance to test it..."

"You have names for all of them?" asks Peter, who's not anywhere near sober enough to work out the meaning of said name. He grimaces, screwing up his face as he tries to feel for it, figure out what the hell it is. It's hard to remember what it was like to teleport before he knew how to do it voluntarily, but he tries to recall the feeling now in case it's something like that. "What's it do?"

"I don't have, I took it off a rebel, and they have forms for that sort of thing..." Seth answers. It was among the powers he hadn't really planned to take, but it just sort of happened.

"And yeah, thanks, I know what went down with the rebels, I was there, I helped make it happen," he adds, to answer Peter's earlier question (and neglecting to answer his last question). He could hardly take full credit with Daine doing what she did, but Seth did do his bit.

"You what?" Peter goggles at him. "Bullshit," he says with a grin, giving Seth a friendly shove. "You did not--oh."

Oh indeed. That feeling of doing something he didn't mean to do comes flooding back the moment he touches Seth and sends something flowing between them. It doesn't glow this time, but Peter sure as hell feels different afterward. "Goddamn," he says, squinting at his surroundings with new clarity. "Shit, what did I do?"

Seth would elaborate, but he's drunk. Which is pretty unexpected, to be honest. He's not sure what's happened, and he's having a really hard time working it out, because for some reason, he is drunk.

Oh wait.

"That's.. that's what it does..." he answers, screwing up his eyes, feeling suddenly woozy. He still also feels hungover, so this is really not a great combination. He didn't have ideal conditions for concentrating before, but now it's really bad.

Peter, on the other hand, is pretty sure he hasn't been this sober in days. "Oh-ho-ho," he chuckles, overwhelmed by the sudden possibilities that spring into his mind, crystal-clear. For one thing, he's gone from drunk to sober without a hangover in between, which is damned convenient. "God, that's fantastic. How are you holding up? Enjoying it? You looked like you needed a drink."

"No," he answers, pinching the bridge of his nose. He might've needed, you know, to drink an actual drink. Not get instantly drunk. He definitely needs some water. You know what, he's gonna get some, just let him...

It's not particularly graceful, as his body is exhausted, hungover, drunk, and also slightly funky from too many powers, all at the same time. But at least he's already in the kitchen, so he only has to stand up to get a glass and fill it with water.

"Oh." Peter remains on the floor, though for once he's the one feeling coordinated. "Don't hurt yourself," he suggests as he watches Seth. Then, displaying a little more empathy (if not the best judgment re: asking for clarification from someone in no state to provide it), he asks, "What happened to you?"

Seth fills a glass and gulps down the entire thing, then just stands leaning on the counter for a while, eyes closed. One good thing about the sudden presence of alcohol in his system is the pain and discomfort from powers is now somewhat numbed.

"Told ya," he answers after a couple moments. "Rebel base. Took a bunch of their powers. Guess I took too many," he says, filling another glass of water and then making his way over to the kitchen table to sit on an actual chair. "Didn't actually mean to give you that one..."

Peter finally gets to his feet, watching Seth with undisguised fascination. He's already missing the buzz he gave the other man, but he's not decided yet as to whether he'll take it back or just go get a new one. "Finders keepers," he suggests. "Do you think maybe -- just maybe -- you should give more of them away? If you feel like shit and you can't even stop yourself doing it by accident, that's what I'd call a sign."

"Yeah..." Seth agrees. Part of his problem was that, well, even if he had a pretty strong suspicion it was the powers doing it, he can't just give them up, he has to give them to someone. And by the time he thought he should do so, he'd felt too shitty to actually do it.

"You can keep that one, I don't need it," he adds, just so they're on the same page. Payback for when he convinced Peter to give up his original power maybe, even if he got it back.

"Good, because I want it," replies Peter. "This is going to be a fun one, I can already tell you that."

What would happen, he wonders, if they'd both been drunk? Swap, he'd said. "So it switches?" he asks. "I could take it back if I wanted, be the drunk one again?"
